Actuator एक ऐसा डिवाइस है जो electrical signals को mechanical work में बदल देता है। इसका उपयोग movement या surroundings में बदलाव लाने के लिए किया जाता है। उदाहरण के लिए, एक fan temperature कम करने के लिए और एक servo motor position change करने के लिए उपयोग की जाती है।
Actuators किसी system के output से जुड़े होते हैं। ये electrical signal को input के रूप में लेते हैं और mechanical movement को output के रूप में produce करते हैं। System या signal conditioning device से मिलने वाले instruction के आधार पर actuator काम करता है।
Actuator का काम sensor data पर निर्भर करता है। Sensor से data signal conditioning unit तक जाता है, जो data analyze करके actuator को command देता है।

Eample : Temperature Control System में temperature sensor वातावरण का तापमान manage करता है। यदि temperature एक निश्चित सीमा से ऊपर चला जाता है, तो system fan को तेज़ करने के लिए instruct करता है ताकि temperature कम हो सके।

Types of Actuators (Actuators के प्रकार) :

1. Manual Actuator : ये actuator manually operate किए जाते हैं, जैसे gears, levers, और wheels के ज़रिए। इन्हें power source की जरूरत नहीं होती क्योंकि ये human action से चलते हैं।
2. Spring Actuator : इसमें एक loaded spring होता है, जिसे trigger और release करके mechanical work generate किया जाता है। इसे कई तरीकों से trigger किया जा सकता है।
3. Hydraulic Actuator : ये actuators fluid को compress करके pressure generate करते हैं, जिससे mechanical movement होता है। ये अक्सर high-force applications में उपयोग किए जाते हैं।
4. Electric Actuator :ये actuators को काम करने के लिए power source की आवश्यकता होती है। ये electric motor का उपयोग करके movement produce करते हैं। ये तेज़ और प्रभावी होते हैं।
